Get hands-on during a practical beach clean session at Morfa Bychan with Keep Wales Tidy that will explore what we can all do to reduce marine litter. Morfa Bychan, known locally as Black Rock Sands is on the Llyn Peninsular and is a 2 mile stretch of sandy beach with caves and rockpools. Its sand-dunes have been declared a ‘Site of Special Scientific Interest’ with rare maritime plants and wildlife habitats. We will be spending time cleaning the litter that gets blown into the sand-dunes and on the beach and also learn about why these sand-dunes are so special and unique. This is a beautiful beach, great for paddling (if you can brave the cold!) making sandcastles and exploring rockpools, so if the sun shines, bring a picnic and make a day of it!
