Wales Coast Path Walking Festival This walk takes in pretty lanes with wild flowers, a visit to see the famous grave of Lloyd George, crosses fields to the coast and along the coast path back to Criccieth. The route passes Cefn Castell, a cliff-side house that featured recently on Channel 4’s Grand Designs. The walk starts with a coach ride from Porthmadog to Criccieth, and similarly finishes with a return coach from Criccieth to Porthmadog where there will be refreshments available. Distance: 5.5 miles Walking ability: Moderate - this is a fairly level walk but requires a reasonable level of fitness and some experience of country walking. The walk is suitable for older children who are able to manage 5.5 miles. Walking boots are advised. Registration: Please arrive by 9:15 to register and have a tea/coffee. The coach will leave at 9:45 Time: Approximately four hours including a break What to bring: Packed lunch and warm, waterproof clothes, sun-screen, hat, money for public transport Amenities: Refreshments on sale and toilets available in Criccieth and Porthmadog. Start point: Y Ganolfan, High Street, Porthmadog LL49 9LU. We will take a coach from here to the walk start.
